Job Description:

Vicarel Studios is looking to fill a position for a Graphic Designer/Executive assistant. The ideal candidate can concept, refine and complete unexpected, artful creative ideas as well as manage their time and think intuitively to help support the basic business functions at Vicarel Studios. This person should have 3+ years of experience in a creative agency or similar. They will have a portfolio of compelling, delightfully surprising and award-winning work and be able to explain how the work solved the problems of their clients. They will have a personality and character that contributes positively to the fun, fast and ever-evolving culture of Vicarel Studios.

Qualifications:

  • MUST be an excellent, transparent and honest communicator.

  • 3+ years at an agency or design firm

  • Portfolio of award-winning work.

  • Concepting, illustration, typographic and layout skills.

  • Strong design skills including: layout, illustration, branding, packaging, typography and lettering. Photography direction, social media and animation are a plus.

  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Must be able to speak, in detail, to the what’s and why’s of all design decisions made.

  • A self-initiated work-ethic to passionately create work and learn new processes.

  • Must have outstanding craft and be a competent painter.

  • A drive to solve problems with unexpected, curious, artful and innovative approach.

  • Must demonstrate excellent time-management skills, be comfortable handling multiple projects at once and be capable of working independently and meeting tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Concepting, designing and presenting creative ideas in a variety of mediums (branding, lettering, illustration, murals, and other creative concepts)

  • Willingness to learn new mediums, programs and processes

  • Collaborating with team members, other freelancers/contractors, clients and vendors to help execute strategic, artful and innovative ideas.

  • Concepting unique, original ideas.

  • Refining and finalizing pre-existing sketches, illustrations and lettering.

  • Completing any necessary production-tasks associated with all projects and/or support Adam in running Vicarel Studios. Inclusive of, but not limited to: picking up paint and selecting supplies for murals, mailing and shipping orders, picking up proofs from printers.

  • Assistance in pre-production and production of murals, live art events and installations.

  • Refinement and/or Finalizing of lettering, branding, packaging and general design projects for various clients in various industries under the Creative Direction of Adam.

  • Concepting based on brief provided for lettering, branding, packaging for various clients in various industries under the Creative Direction of Adam.

  • Putting together presentations and pitch decks for various clients and projects in InDesign.

  • Other tasks as developed.

Compensation:

  • Based on experience: $40,000–$50,000

  • Heathcare stipend

  • PTO (flexible)
